Challenge
Traditional production processes and data structures were not designed for highly configurable manufacturing. The customer needed to align product development, engineering, and factory operations while enabling reliable data exchange across multiple systems. At the same time, key performance indicators such as OEE, energy consumption, waste, predictive maintenance, and AGV utilization needed to become measurable and actionable.
Context
A leading European kitchen manufacturer set out to build one of the world’s most advanced kitchen production facilities. The ambition was to combine highly automated production with a high degree of product variation, requiring a digital foundation where product data, engineering, and manufacturing could work together seamlessly.
What we did
TechSeed was responsible for defining and enabling the product data solution in the new MES environment, helping ensure that product structures, rules, and parameters could support automated and dynamic production workflows. We bridged business, IT, and OT, supporting data migration, process design, business training, and operational adoption. In parallel, we helped define the strategy, information flows, KPI framework, and solution landscape required to support the customer’s broader smart factory transformation.
Result
The customer established a stronger foundation for flexible and highly automated production. Product data became an active part of manufacturing execution, enabling more efficient operations, improved production visibility, and better alignment between engineering and production. The work also laid the foundation for continuous improvement across production, logistics, energy management, and equipment performance.
